Since 2023 the regulator has made the balance codes the same on every network. Here they are, with each operator's own extras.
Dial *310# to see your airtime balance and *323# to see your data balance, on MTN, Airtel, Glo or 9mobile. These are the harmonised codes the Nigerian Communications Commission directed every network to use. MTN shows your main data bundle and bonus on *323*4#, and Glo also accepts *312#.
| Network | Airtime balance | Data balance | Also |
|---|---|---|---|
| MTN | *310# | *323*4# (main bundle and bonus), or *310# | SMS 2 to 323; myMTN app |
| Airtel | *310# | *323# | *312# for data plans; My Airtel app |
| Glo | *310# | *323# or *312# | *301# Glo Cafe app |
| 9mobile | *310# (harmonised code) | *323# (harmonised code) | 9mobile's own site could not be reached when we checked |
The NCC's harmonised list also sets *311# for recharging, *312# for data plans, *321# for sharing airtime or data, *303# for borrowing, *2442# for Do Not Disturb and *996# for checking your NIN link.
| Code | What it does |
|---|---|
| 300 | Call centre or help desk |
| 301 | Deposit voicemail |
| 302 | Retrieve voicemail |
| 303 | Borrow airtime or data |
| 305 | Stop a service |
| 310 | Check airtime balance |
| 311 | Recharge airtime |
| 312 | Data plans |
| 321 | Share airtime or data |
| 323 | Check data balance |
| 2442 | Do Not Disturb |
| 3232 | Mobile number portability |
| 996 | Check your NIN and SIM link |
Each code is dialled as *code#, for example *310#. The NCC approved the list in 2023 and set a deadline for every network to move to it, so an older code you memorised, such as *556# or *123#, may no longer answer.
Airtime and data are the two things Nigerians buy most often, and you can pay for both from a crypto balance. In the Yesa app, open Bills, choose Airtime or Data, pick the network and under Pay from choose your crypto or your naira balance. The naira figure is on screen before you confirm. Across 1,700 measured bank payouts on Yesa, the median payout time was 4.7 seconds. These are historical measurements, not guarantees. The on-chain part, your crypto reaching Yesa, comes first and depends on the network you send on.
*310#. It is the harmonised code, so the same dial works on Airtel, Glo and 9mobile.
Dial *323#. Airtel's user guide lists *323# for data balance and *312# for data plans.
*323# or *312#, per Glo's data FAQ. Glo's airtime balance code is *310#.
The NCC moved every network to the harmonised codes in 2023, with *310# for airtime balance. If an old code still answers on your line, the harmonised one is the version the operators publish today.
No. Balance codes only report the line they are dialled from.
Bonus airtime and promotional data are often listed separately. MTN's *323*4# shows the bonus breakdown.
The Yesa Team. Details checked 27 October 2026. Codes and figures come from the institutions' own websites on the date shown; they change, so the bank, operator or regulator is the final word.
