TRON is the network most Nigerian USDT actually travels on, and TRX is the coin that powers it. On Yesa you buy it with naira at the rate on your screen.
Open the Yesa app to see exactly what your naira buys.
TRX pays for moving things on TRON.
TRC-20 USDT transfers are the cheap, fast default for moving stablecoins here, and each one costs a little TRX, so people buy it to keep their USDT moving as much as to hold it. Its low unit price means a modest naira amount buys whole coins rather than a fraction.
This page explains how buying works on Yesa. It is not a view on whether to buy any coin, and nothing here is financial advice.
Buy sits on the home screen next to Sell. Choose what you want to buy from the list of coins.
Type what you want to spend. The screen shows roughly how much TRON that buys and the rate per coin, along with the smallest and largest amount you can buy right now. Those limits move, so the screen is the one to trust.
Either from your Yesa naira balance, or by bank transfer from an account in your name.
You confirm with your account password or your transaction PIN, whichever your app asks for. Nothing is charged until you transfer, and cancelling costs nothing.
Yesa shows you an account and an exact total. Send the exact total shown. A different amount is not processed, so type the figure rather than rounding it. Send from a bank account in your own name. A transfer from any other account is not accepted and goes back to that account within 24 working hours.
Your TRON lands in your Yesa wallet, a few minutes after a bank transfer and straight away when you paid from your naira balance. From there you can hold it, swap it, or sell it back to naira whenever you want.
The TRX sits in your Yesa wallet. You can hold it, swap it into another coin, or sell it back for naira at the rate on screen, published daily at today's TRON to naira rate.
Selling it back is the same app in reverse: today's TRON rate, with the naira paid to any Nigerian bank account. If you are choosing between coins, how to buy crypto in Nigeria covers all ten.
In Yesa, tap Buy, choose TRX, and type the naira amount you want to spend. Pay from your Yesa naira balance or by bank transfer from an account in your name, confirm with your password or transaction PIN, and the TRX arrives in your Yesa wallet.
The calculator at the top of this page shows roughly what your naira gets, and the app shows the rate per TRX and the exact amount before you confirm. On a bank transfer the final amount is fixed when your transfer arrives.
The amount screen shows the current minimum and maximum as you type. They move with the rate and with what the payment route allows that day.
The rate per TRX is on screen before you confirm. Until then the amount is an estimate, and on a bank transfer the final amount is fixed when your transfer arrives, because the market moves while a transfer is in flight.
Yes, in the same app, with the naira paid to any Nigerian bank account. Today's rate is at TRON to naira rate.
Almost always one of three things: it came from an account in someone else's name, the amount was rounded instead of exact, or the single use account had already stopped accepting transfers. Nothing is charged until you transfer, and cancelling costs nothing.
Yes. Buying, holding and selling cryptocurrency is legal for individuals in Nigeria. Digital assets are recognised under the Investments and Securities Act 2025, and the Securities and Exchange Commission regulates digital asset services. Crypto is not legal tender, and profits from trading may be taxable, so keep your own records of what you buy and sell. This is general information rather than legal or tax advice; the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Central Bank of Nigeria publish the current position.
